Sony Progressive Scan CCD Cameras

There are two common methods for “painting” a video image on an electronic display screen by scanning or displaying each line or row of pixels, the first is Interlace Scan and the second is Progressive Scan.

Progressive scan video cameras are used in a variety of applications in industrial vision, such as machine vision, robotics and military. A progressive scan video camera is used specifically for moving applications using a non-interlaced technology, which allows for a clear picture.

New GigE Vision line of Industrial Cameras from Hitachi Kokusai

Hitachi Kokusai Electric’s new line of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) cameras includes 7 camera models of monochrome, color and 3CCD color cameras, all with a GigE Vision interface for ease of use.  The new lineup consists of 7 models; a 1.45M pixel 3CCD color camera, 3 single CCD color models and 3 monochrome models with resolutions of VGA, XGA, and SXGA, designed to meet the varied imaging requirements.

The GigE Vision interface allows a direct connection from the camera to the PC using high speed LAN cables that can be up to 100 meters in length. The use of standard LAN cables allows a reduction in system costs while the standardized GigE Vision interface speeds system installation and setup.
